Moebs to address FCCU free small business program

Business analyst, author and economic researcher Mike Moebs will bring his message for business owners to Tallahassee on Wednesday for a free program hosted by Florida Commerce Credit Union.
Moebs, the founder and CEO of Moebs Services in Chicago, will discuss current economic conditions and the impact on small businesses. He is widely quoted in The Wall Street Journal and Business Week and is a frequent guest on Fox News, CNN and CNBC.
He will highlight some of his own business strategy and what he has observed with major corporations. Cost control is essential, especially now.
Wal-Mart, Disney and McDonald's are good examples. "All those companies have an excellent control of their costs. They have been able to drive down their costs and preserve their profit margins," he said.
Moebs forecasts a full-fledged recovery by the end of 2010 or early 2011. In the short term, he is concerned that government efforts, such as the Troubled Asset Relief Program, have only helped a small number of institutions. There has been little done outside the big banks to help shore up the capital base of other institutions. That capital structure is critical, he added.
